Description

DJI Zenmuse H3-2D Brushless Gimbal.

Please note: The H3-2D Zenmuse gimbal has now been replaced with the DJI Zenmuse H3-3D V1.1 Brushless Gimbal Phantom 2 and DJI Zenmuse H4-3D Gimbal for GoPro Hero 4 This page is for reference only.

The DJI Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal is a high precision, high stability, lightweight with plug and play features; it is widely used in film and television productions, advertising aerial photography. The Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal is designed for the GoPro Hero3 and will stabilize and control the GoPro camera precisely with the highest stability. The precision of control angle is within the range of ±0.08°, so the photos or video output will be of the highest quality in fast forward flight or a holding position.

The DJI Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal requires no additional manual adjustments, there is no need to adjust the C.G. or parameters in the software for use with the Phantom, the installation process is extremely simple, there is only a requirement to add the V2 PMU and GCU inside the Phantom shell, these two items require soldering into the system, the rest of the installation is plug-and-play.

The H3-2D gimbal has a video output pickup from the GoPro Hero3’s connector and with the use of video transmission (video downlink required) you will be able to view the image seen by the GoPro in real time. DJI are looking to add the use of remote start/stop shooting etc of the GoPro Hero3 in future firmware upgrades.

The H3-2D gimbal is compatible with many of the DJI flight control systems, and can adjust the roll and pitch angle according to the accurate control of the Gimbal through communication with the DJI flight controllers in real-time. The Zenmuse H3-2D will work with the Wookong M, Naza M V2, Naza V1, Ace One and Naza H when you are using a PMU that supports the Can Network. The Naza Lite will not support the Zenmuse Gimbal. If you don’t have a PMU that will support Can communications you can add one to your system, this will only be applicable to Naza H and V1 users that don’t have the PMU as a standard part.

The GCU supplied with the Zenmuse H3-2D has a USB communication port allowing it to be upgraded at a future point to take advantage of the latest firmware updates as they are released from DJI.

The mechanical design, weight and power supply of the gimbal is matched to the Phantom and Flame Wheel frames perfectly. The Phantom transmitter can be easily upgraded to give the pitch (tilt) control function to the gimbal, with a customized slider. No additional receiver channels are needed as it just uses the additional MC channels for operation. The aluminum alloy material and mechanical design means that the gimbal is extremely light weight (total 230g with the GoPro Hero3 included). The structural design of the aluminum frame guarantees the strength of the gimbal and gives it a robust feel and function.
