DJI Naza M V2 GPS + F550 E300 Flame Wheel ARTF Kit.

This product has been replced with the DJI F550 E305 Flame Wheel Kit ARTF V2 + DJI Naza M V2 GPS + Landing Legs. This page is for reference only.

The Naza M V2 GPS & F550 E300 Flame Wheel ARTF Kit from DJI is their next exciting product to the market, it utilises the latest technology from the E300 Tuned Propulsion system with the Naza M V2 GPS flight controller. This package includes the latest F550 E300 Flame Wheel ARTF QuadCopter kit supplied with the landing legs needed to install a Zenmuse gimbal. The New E300 Tuned Propulsion system is the first power solution of its kind for multi-rotor use, the higher thrust to weight ratio increases the reliability, stability and agility of flight through enhanced aerodynamics and efficiency from the motor and propeller combination.

The DJI Naza M V2 main controller hardware structure has been optimized, the expandability and performance of the flight control system has been enhanced further with new attitude stabilization algorithms. The E300 Tuned Propulsion system has added to these improvements to provide better flight performance and manoeuvrability, the new level of flight control performance provides better flight control, flights are smoother and take-offs are easier. The Naza M V2 has automatic course deviation compensation, this reduces the effects of magnetic disturbance and interference around the compass, there is a warning for detection of magnetic disturbance from the Naza LED. The IMU advanced calibration; error identification and warning helps to reduce the impact of sensor errors in flight so increasing the overall performance of the system.

The GPS unit added to the Naza M V2 will see great position holding and RTL (Return To Launch) features for additional safety. The Naza M V2 with GPS also have IOC (Intelligent Orientation Control) function to help new and experienced pilots gain the most from the systems with easy orientation assistance while flying at greater distances.

Included in the Naza M V2 GPS F550 E300 Flame wheel ARTF kit:

Please note some soldering and construction is needed on the F550 E300 Flame Wheel ARTF Kit.

Great Service, Advice and Aftersales Support
I contacted BYOD for advice on how to build a multirotor that would be easily upgraded / adapted in the future. The guys took their time to walk me through the options and what I may be looking at as potential upgrades. The F550 was a great choice as it can accomodate future FPV / aerial photography equipment. After re-establishing my soldering skills the build is pretty straighforward. As I was new to serious RC equipment the guys were also very helpful after my purchase in walking me through the setup of Futaba T8J controller. All round great support and advice - my thanks to BYOD.

Great kit and ultimate customer service
I've only recently got into flying multi copters but quickly decided I wanted to move onto a self build to learn a little more and understand the technology.

It took me a little while to decide on my purchase but BYOD were outstanding, answering all my questions, giving honest advice.

Currently in the process of the build so can't comment on the actual flying yet but the delivery was next day, product oozes quality. Can't wait to get some flight time with it!

awsum piece of kit
Ordered on friday delivered on saturday and that was with standard shipping.

Kit very easy to build and set up I also ordered the naza m v2 for this kit it works absolutely fantastic.

BYOD staff are great too I have called them with a couple of technical questions and they have responded very professionally and helped sort my set up issues unrushed.

One thing everyone should know is BYOD customer service is 2nd to none and you can't go wrong being one of BYOD customers.

I dont normally recomend a company but my experience with dealing with BYOD for my purchases was too trouble free not to recomend them.

Excellent piece of kit.
Ordered this and received it the next day - obviously customer service is important to them (as it should be). Assembly was straightforward but you need to be confident with soldering. The latest speed controllers have a central insulated wire and outer braid which is slightly more fiddly to solder up than conventional two wire due to having to separate off the braid, but shouldn't be beyond most used to soldering. The instructions on the DJI website are detailed and putting together the mechanicals was simple. There was a spanner included in the kit but this is not needed with the self tightening props now supplied. I used a 4S 4200mAH LiPo and made sure the model was balanced. I used a HITEC Aurora 9X radio with this kit and found a YouTube video online showing how to set this particular radio up to get the failsafe functions on the Naza. There were no details on how to do this on the DJI website. Required setting up a 3 position switch, a 2 position switch, and linking them with a programmable mix. Not sure many could have worked that out from first principles so the video was well worth watching. Really bad weather stopped me from testing out for a few days but it did enable me to spend more time checking all the settings and calibrating the Naza. Finally picked up the courage to test it out on a slightly breezy day. Exceeded my expectations in terms of stability and ease of control. At no time did I feel this machine was struggling despite some breeze. I didn't try anything radical on the first flight, just wanted to make sure all was well. Occasionally you could hear some motors compensating for the effect of the wind giving confidence the electronics were doing their thing correctly. I am really pleased with the performance of this kit and have no hesitation in recommending it. Eventually I would like to install a Zenmuse as other reviewers have mentioned. One of the main reasons for choosing this model was the larger size, and hence carrying capacity, and stability compared with smaller alternatives.

Great bit off kit. Fantastic service
I ordered this on black Friday as a christmas present for myself, it was well packaged and delivered the next day on Saturday. Contact via Facebook that day was swift to help me make my choice.
Ive Managed to get my first flight done today and I have to say I was well impressed on how stable it was to fly even in breezy conditions. It was easy and fun to put together with a bit off research via the net I managed to programme my DX6i controller to get it to fly. Thank you very much BYOD.

Good value product - and excellent customer service.
I bought this in early July and had great un assembling it. You will need a 2mm hexagon driver (worth getting a good one, preferably a ball driver as the screws are quite tiny). You may also need some thread lock (I used Loctite 243) and liquid insulation tape is great for covering the exposed pads after soldering the ESCs. (I used Performix liquid tape, available from Plastidip) A good soldering iron is essential. The ESC power leads are a little on the long side, and the prepared end is for the E300 base plate (not supplied) and needs stripping back to accommodate the wider pad spacing on the 550 base plate. If you are doing that, you might as well trim the cable back to a more suitable length. Be careful if you do this, the shielded cable needs care in preparation and you need to ensure there are no loose strands.

The NAZA M2 performs well. However, don't do what I did which was set low limits on the altitude and range - it makes the 'copter unstable sometimes prevented take of. Again full marks to BYOD customer services for guiding me through that issue.

In flight this seems quieter than a friend's f550 with the 30A ESCs, but otherwise performance is similar. I get about 15 minutes gentle flying time from a 4S 4,200mAh LiPo battery. This is without any additional payload - eventually it will have a Zenmuse gimbal and a GoPro.
