The ArduCopter set is based on famous ArduCopter Quad design by Jani Hirvinen and his team on DIY Drones.

What is an ArduCopter Quad?

The ArduCopter is a multi-rotor amateur UAV development platform, the ArduCopter is intended for DIY people who enjoy building RC kits and playing with the latest RC equipment, the main applications of the kit is for use inaerial photography or just for the pure enjoyment of flying the ArduCopter Quad.

Even if you are not a software developer or "hacker" who would like to tune everything last setting, you can still enjoy this community product.

The Arducopter Quad kit v1.1 allows people to build their own mini UAV or just an ordinary R/C toy, it all depends on its owners requirements. You can also program everything on it by yourself or use software that has been developed by DIY Drones community; the software is updated at regular intervals.

ArduCopter Quad v1.1 Full Electrics KIT Contains (hardware):

The items listed are the basic components of the ArduCopter. Other items you can use (these are not included in this kit) include a Sonar sensor, camera, video systems, batteries, radio or other devices. This way you can build your own custom ArduCopter!

  • Gyro stabilized flight mode enabling acrobatics (loops and barrel rolls).

  • GUI for configuration of PID and other flight parameters.

  • Real-time graphs of flight data.

  • Motor control using low cost standard PWM Electronics Speed Controllers (ESC's).

  • On board flight telemetry data storage.

  • Capability to fly in "+", "x".

  • Capability to fly quad, (hexa and octo coming) configurations.

  • Mounted camera stabilization capability.

  • User configurable LED flight pattern.

  • Capability to use any R/C receiver.

  • ArduCopter Configuration and Ground Control Software.

  • Real-time graphs of flight data.

  • Wireless command & Telemetry Kit Here for long distance communication (with external mode).

Features under development:

  • Magnetometer for heading determination.

  • Barometer for altitude hold.

  • IR sensor integration for obstacle avoidance.

  • Sonar sensor for automated takeoff and landing capability.
