First Person View

The First Person View or FPV section of BYOD offers the best selection of hand-picked products from FatShark and ImmersionRC, the world leaders in First Person View technology, DJI Innovations the flight control experts and 3D Robotics from the open source community. The two worlds of FPV and UAV / Drones have come together over a very short period of time, First Person View or FPV flights which were once a type of remote-control (RC) flying that started out in the world of RC planes. Mounting a small video camera and transmitter to an RC aircraft to send down a live video link of the flight in real time, the pilot would use either the Fatshark Dominator V3 HD video goggles or the FatShark Attitude V3 goggles or a portable LCD screen to see and fly from the aircraft as if they were on board the RC plane.

When flying "FPV", the pilot sees the flight from the aircraft's view, the First Person View systems have now grown in popularity with UAV pilots, you will now find FPV systems in both planes and multi rotors from the small DJI Phantom 2 QuadCopter Ready To Fly kits with FPV systems installed all the way through to the professional DJI S900 HexaCopter which we build and supply for clients. The use of First Person View systems were once just used for fun flights around fields, however they are now an integral part for aerial photography and videography in the professional arena to ensure that photos and video are on "target" throughout the flights which means that there is no more guessing if you were in the right place at the right time!

The First Person View systems can be used with any aircraft found in the store, so if you are looking for fun flights with a Phantom or one of the other airframes you can very quickly build up a comprehensive system to stream video while recording, frame photos while key information on battery use, altitude, distance and other important flight information is sent straight to your screen or goggles via an On Screen Display system.

The use of additional systems like OSD, short for On Screen Display's with FPV systems makes for a much safer, easier flight and removes the stress of working out where you are, the world looks very different from 50 meters up and a 100 meters away, the OSD systems allows you to see a direction to the home position so navigation back to your take-off point is very easy, most systems will not only show you the way home they will also tell you how far you have to go before arriving back!

If you are looking to use you current aircraft or just starting out into the RC world with either a plane or a multi rotor aircraft for fun or professional flights we will have a system that will meet your requirements.
